Bwana remakes Akira soundtrack for 2016
Tetsuoooo! Good news Akira fans: Bwana is releasing a new LP entitled Capsule’s Pride based on the seminal 1988 sci-fi anime. The Toronto-born producer has reworked the soundtrack towards a futuristic techno template, with soundbites from the original score.
Directed by Katsuhiro Otomo and composed by Shoji Yamashiro, Akira has been hailed as a true Japanese cult classic and cited as the source of inspiration for a number of high-profile projects – most famously The Matrix. With releases on Infinite Machine, Somethink Sounds and Will Saul’s Aus Music, Bwana’s nine-track album for LuckyMe is shaping up to be an essential listen for anime and electronic music fans alike.
Capsule’s Pride is available on vinyl with accompanying merchandise, and can be downloaded for free via LuckyMe on March 26th.
